Timothy ‘Timtropiks’ Olawoye

He is a dynamic filmmaker hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, driven by a profound commitment to showcasing authentic African stories through compelling documentaries and films that delve into public health issues.

His primary objective is to challenge preconceived notions about individuals with disabilities and champion the inclusion of children and Persons with disability through the medium of film. With a foundation in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and a professional development certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation in Global Health from the University of Washington, USA,

Timothy brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to his creative endeavors. Despite lacking formal training in filmmaking, Timothy has cultivated a rich skill set through hands-on experience, independent projects, and fruitful collaborations.

His inaugural independent short-film,
 “I AMX21: A Story of Down Syndrome,” has enjoyed widespread acclaim and has been featured at
esteemed public screenings, including the British Council Creative Economy Art Showcase.
